Did you know that there is still a significant gender gap in coaches and players at all levels of tennis?
Judy Murray and the Lawn Tennis Association are aiming to do something about this through the She Rallies programme.
Marie, our founder and This Girl Can Sussex champion attended a training session with Judy and the She Rallies team to learn how to deliver the ‘Miss Hits’ programme for 5 -8 year olds. Miss-Hits was born out of a need to get more girls playing tennis. Girls are currently outnumbered 4:1 by boys at entry level! So the programme aims to make the sport more attractive to girls.
Miss Hits has great characters that subtly teach different tennis skills and moves. There is dance, fun, laugher, chiffon scarves, balloons, rackets and Billy Ball Dog.
There are a number of tennis inspired activities within the Fitz programme and we are looking forward to sharing more.
